Candles

It was a pretty normal night for Klara. Her parents wouldn't be home till 12 and her brothers were at their friend's houses. Klara was bored so she invited her best friend Jackie over. When Jackie got there, they played around on the computer for an hour until the power went out.

"It's not raining is it?"Jackie asked curiously.
"Of course not."Klara said trying not to sound nervous.
She looked out her window just to make sure. There was no rain on the window and the sky was clear. Jackie took out her phone to cast a little bit of light in the room.
"Come with me to get candles."Klara said grabbing Jackie's phone and walking downstairs.
After they found the candles and had lit as many as possible the house looked even creepier.

"Now what?"Jackie asked.
That's when Klara looked outside. Behind her house was a thick woods and nobody lived behind her. When she looked back she saw a cloaked figure.
"Jackie somebody is outside." Klara said barely breathing.
Jackie turned around and the figure had disappeared.

"You are seeing things Klara. Just your imagination."She said trying to lighten the mood.
Klara just nodded. She knew she had seen something....someone.
"Klara,come on I'll show you." Jackie said grabbing her hand and walking outside.
Nobody was there.
"Jackie I promise you-"
Then they heard trees rustling. They ran inside and locked the door. The girls ran up to Klara's room and also locked that door.

"It was just a deer probably. Yeah."Jackie started trying to convince herself.
After minutes of getting themselves together, they walked down the stairs. The candles were out. All of them! There was no way a breeze could have came in.

"Did you?"Klara asked slowly.
"No."Jackie said terrified.
That was when they turned around to see the cloaked figure. Jackie and Klara began running. When they got downstairs the cloaked figure was standing in the doorway.
"You killed my mom. Now your going to die."The figure said in a low raspy voice.
Just when the knife was about to come down the lights popped on and the hooded fgure was gone. Klara's parents came in and the candles were now all flickering brightly. Klara and Jamie were hugging each other and breathing heavy.

"Girls whats wrong?"Karla's mother asked.
They told her nothing and walked back up to Karla's room. Later the girls did some research on Karla's house. They found out that in 1654 a young mans ex-girlfriend had been crazy and killed his mother. Before she murdered her, the girlfriend made the mother suffer by burning her with candles, then she stabbed her to death. The boy killed the ex-girlfriend then killed himself. I guess he never left..
