The Kimono of Kiki Nada Posted by dreamsaregreat Date Posted: 02/17/2006
I'm a American Resident of Harioki, Japan. My story is real because it runs through my heritage, but through the generations this White kimono is past through my family and we call it the Kiki Nada (Japanese for ill woman). Well my grandmother past away, and on her will i was to get the kimono as a herlom of my family it supposed to be past down to the oldest grandchild. If its a girl it brings the family good luck, if its a boy the family goes through a generation poverty.
I never believed the family legend untill about four years ago when i was home alone. My mom had gone to my sisters parent teacher conference and my father went to a shunika tournament(japanese poker). well I home alone and it was near 11 p.m. when i heard footsteps from upstairs. Now my Kimono is kept in my closet and it's also locked from inside in which I keep my key for it. No one is allowed access to it including my parents. well back to the story.
I went upstairs to check things, because its my house and strangers just tick me off. i unlocked the closet in my room check my kimono i'm afraid to wear it because it make me look girly. But, my family legend says that I must give the kimono to my first born female child, if i have no female children the kimono is to be burned or buried with my mother.
Well suprisingly it wasn't there. I started to freak because of the shame i could bring to my family. I ran down stairs to call my mother to let her know because of the urgency. When i was running thru the kitchen I was stopped by something I'll never be able to erase from my mind. My grand mother was sitting at my kitchen table wearing the kimono. She pointed to me and started calling me the curse. Over and over, adding to that the flickering lights, and the rattling cabinets. i ran outside of my house and to my neighbors and called the police. The police never came because on the other side of the line was my grandmother speaking in clear japanese. I was so scared i ran into my front yard and passed out. I wooke in my bed and i was wearing th ekimono my mother told me i was found wearing it. She said it was muddy so she washed the fabric with fine soap on hung it in my room to dry.
I told my mother the story and she beleived me...
........because it happened to her. Visitor Rating:
