Afraid Of The Dark Posted by bloodinthewater Date Posted: 01/08/2012
My heart was pounding out of my chest. It, whatever it was, had gotten to me. With every beat my heart made I slipped away even more. My body was completely numb and I was going to die. Let me take you back to when this all started, when I looked into the eyes of Hell.
"Remember, honey! Don't go into the basement. You know that's where your father was...uh...taken." my mom said for the 143rd time that day. You see my father was murdered when I was only five years old. The murderer left without a trace, except for 50 jars of my dad's blood and no body. It was the most horrific day of my life. My mother had gone into a deep depression after that. Therapists, doctors, and hypnotists couldn't help her but one day she snapped out of it. That was the last time she shed a tear, ever.
"I won't mom, I promise. I love you. Have fun!" I said. "I love you too honey, I'll be back tomorrow in the afternoon" and she left. So I was home alone. I went to the TV room and started getting into a TV program when suddenly all the lights turned off. "Great! It's 7 pm and I don't have any lights." I said feeling frustrated. I was getting kinda nervous now because my mom was on her way to a town outside Florida and I was only twelve.
"Come to me Alice" a screechy voice said from somewhere in the house. Now I was really scared. "W-w-who's there?" I stammered. Right after I said that a loud cackle went around the house like a firecracker. "WHO'S THERE? I...I AM NOT AFRAID!" I yelled nervously "Oh Alice. I'm here and I'm not leaving until I get what I came for" it whispered viciously "Oh and Alice? I know you're scared" It laughed maniacally.
I looked around nervously, but it was pitch black and there was nothing to see. I started crying. All of a sudden I heard water whooshing from everywhere and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was knocked to the ground but the water didn't feel like water. It was thick and it almost felt..smooth? I stuck out my tongue and...oh my God.... It was BLOOD. "Are you scared now?" the voice questioned in a raspy tone. "Go to the basement. I promise there won't be any blood there........for a while." it screeched. I waded through the blood which had slowed quite a bit and I walked to where I knew the front door would be. I wasn't going to go to the basement because a scary voice told me to.
I desperately pulled on the handle. The door wouldn't budge. I screamed out and banged on the door with my fists. It wouldn't move. "Alice, GO NOW!" It screamed angrily. I let out a sob and waded over to the basement stairs. The blood seemed to have automatically avoided coming anywhere near the stairs. I walked downstairs, "Good girl" the voice praised me. I was horrified to see that the basement walls were covered in mirrors, and there was a dim light so I could see myself. I saw that I was drenched in blood and my clothes were torn, probably from catching on uplifted tiles on the floor. All of a sudden a familiar voice spoke, "Come join me, my beautiful Alice. Come with me." It was my dad. "Daddy?" I said weakly.
"Too late darling, look around the room, I'm here and I see you. I have been watching you and I want you to join your father. I killed him and now I get to kill you." the mysterious voice said, feeling closer than ever. "No! Please don't, I don't want to die plea-" I was cut off and I felt cold hands creep around me. I was thrown to the ground where the blood stained carpet was waiting for me. I lay there waiting for another voice. I wanted to pray but before I could I felt a searing pain in my heart. Before I knew it, my heart was out of my body and laying on the ground beside me. "AHHH" I screamed in agony. I heard classical music the last minute of my life, it was piano and the harp. My father would play the piano and my mother would play the harp for me when I was little. Then I was gone.
The next day, Alison's mother came home and noticed that the basement door was wide open. Downstairs, she discovered her daughter's body with a big hole in her chest and a note saying, "She was good, but not good enough. Now she lies with her father with all her love and heart." Then later, while the police where moving her body, the lights went out and they heard a voice.
