What started out as a number of isolated incidents in the United States, England and Canada now appears to be the work of a single killer. A madman who selects his victims at random, performing the same horrific ritual each time.

So far, seven victims (male and female) have been linked to this killer. There are only two reasons why authorities believe they have yet to find more victims: either the bodies are well hidden, or the killer is taking his time to select and pursue his next subject.

The earlier victims were believed to have been sacrificed in satanic rituals. Their bodies had been branded over a hundred times with strange occult symbols. The causes of death varied, which may be one reason why the cases were not connected earlier. The majority died from blood loss or internal injuries which resulted from being sexually violated with a sharp object; most likely some kind of knife. A few cases died from shock or a panic-induced heart attack.

For months, it was assumed that the murders were committed independently of each other by local factions of “The Disciples of Aleister Crowley”, an international satanic cult.

But the most recent victim, 24 year old Jennifer Brown, was found in her apartment along with clues that would expose this perverted serial killer. Brown was lying on the floor in her kitchen, with the same branding and signs of crude violation with a blade. When they examined the kitchen they found something strange. There was a pot on the stove with scorch marks on the bottom. Someone had turned the heat all the way up. But there was nothing in it, and no marks to indicate that it had been used to burn the victim.

There was a new message on Brown’s answering machine, which the investigators activated and then immediately wrote down. It was a man’s voice saying:

“Beware the Jabberwock! Tonight you dine on Bandersnatch.”

The call was traced to a phone booth down the street from the apartment building.

Because the message mentioned “dining” they decided to open up Brown’s stomach during the autopsy. That’s where they found the clue that would lead them to connect all of the “Jabberwock’s” victims. Jennifer Brown had been forced to swallow as many as fifteen burning hot ball bearings.

They reopened a pile of satanic ritual cases and found six others that fit the Jabberwocky M.O.: branded, stabbed… and force-fed metal balls, with burns all the way down their throats.

So far there are no leads on who the killer might be.
