Pay Back

There once lived two mischievous boys named Devin and Kevin. These two loved to trick people and play practical jokes on them. Neither of them knew what they were in for. All that they had ever done would be coming back to them. Except, in the worst way possible.

Devin and Kevin were walking to school one morning and
saw a shivering dog on the side of the road. Kevin spotted it first. “Look! It’s a stupid dog!” said Kevin. “Let’s kick it until it can’t move.” said Devin. They almost kicked the poor dog to death, until the dog decided to fight back. It jumped on top of Kevin and started tearing away at his clothes. “Stop it you stupid dog!!” screamed Kevin. Kevin held the dog by its neck and threw it into the woods. Then the two boys quickly ran off to school.

When they arrived at school, they saw a girl who appeared to be new standing in front of their classroom. Devin saw that she had on brand new shoes, and stepped on her shoes with his dirty, muddy shoes. She began to cry softly. “Devin!!” shouted Ms. Smith, their English teacher. “Is this how you welcome a guest? I hope not” said Ms. Smith. “Three weeks of detention! How do you like that??”

“Class, I would like you to welcome your new classmate, Sarah.” Sarah was a very pretty girl. She had beautiful long strawberry blond hair. She was pretty tall. Her face was small and thin. She had beautiful blue eyes. But there was something very strange about her; she had a black tattoo on her hand that looked like the Devil.

During lunchtime Devin and Kevin plotted on who to prank on next. Every now and then Devin would look over at Sarah and she would look back at him as if she wanted to tear him to shreds. Her eyes did not look blue when she looked at him; they looked black, and fiery.

Before everyone knew it, it was time to go home. Devin and Kevin jumped on their bikes and started to race with one another. In a sudden flash, there was Sarah standing right in the middle of the road, and as Kevin tried to stop, he suddenly realized that his brakes were not working; and he ran right into poor Sarah.

There was blood everywhere and when Sarah had gotten hit, she let out a shrill scream. Devin and Kevin jumped off their bikes and ran over to Sarah. She was not breathing, and her heart was not beating. She had like a million little scratches on her face. “What are we going to do now?!?!? We just killed the new girl.” said Devin. “Actually, you killed the new girl Kevin.” “If you had not challenged me to a race, none of this would have happened!” said Kevin.

“OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!” yelled someone. It was Stacey. “You two morons killed her?? I can’t believe you two. Today was her first day at a new school. She didn’t even make a single friend yet and she’s already dead? I know that you two are very bad kids, but I would never expect that you would go that far” said Stacey. “Come on Karen, lets report them to the police” “Listen Stacey, it was not me, it was Kevin, he ran her over.” said Devin. “ It was a total mistake, I didn’t even see her, she just appeared out of no where” said Kevin. “I don’t care, I’ll report both of you, and the two of you will be locked up in jail for murdering someone.” said Stacey.

Kevin and Devin both slowly rode their bikes home, being very careful.. “What if Stacey really does tell?” said Kevin. “I don’t know” said Devin. The next day was very dull and boring for some reason. “I have some shocking news for you class. Our new student Sarah will no longer be with us, because she was killed in a tragic accident by two of our very own students.” said the teacher. “And I’m sure that you all know who they are.” The whole class gasped.

By the time school was over, literally everyone hated them both. Devin and Kevin rode their bikes home slowly this time. When they got home, Kevin noticed a note on his front door. It read “We’re so sorry honey; your sister fell down the stairs and cracked her head so we had to rush her to the hospital. Dinner is in the oven and make sure you do your homework, take a bath and DO NOT stay up later than 10:00 PM. We should be back by 11:00 PM or maximum latest is 3:00 AM. See you soon!!”

“Just great, I have to stay home all alone, but on the other hand, I can do anything that I want. Mom will never know” said Kevin. Kevin put away his stuff and ate his dinner while watching television. After eating dinner, he looked outside and saw that it was raining. He put the TV on the weather channel and the weather man said “This simple rain is going to turn into a severe thunderstorm and you should take precaution because there might be blackouts and your windows might shatter.”

“I can’t believe this, first of all I have to stay home all alone and there is going to be a…..” and before he could say another word, the power went out. “Could this get any worse!!!” screamed Kevin. “Maybe I should go over to Devin’s house, but I can’t see a damn thing.” “You should stay here with me” said someone or something. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” screamed Kevin. “What? Who the hell was that?!?!?!?” said Kevin “Do you remember that sweet little girl you ran over?” said the thing. “OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!” “It’s you, Sarah!!!” “You guessed right” said Sarah. In the darkness Kevin could see a pair of glowing red eyes. On the coffee table, Kevin felt a flashlight, and he turned it on. He shown the light at the creature and saw a bloody, beat up girl whose clothes were all torn up. The girl looked exactly like Sarah. She had dirty blond hair, and a small thin face, and she was tall.

“For what you did to me, I’ll do it back to you.” said Sarah. “NOOOOO” cried Kevin. “I didn’t mean to run you over, it was all a mistake!!!!!!” “I don’t care” said Sarah as she dragged him outside. She tied him up using a rope and took out his bike. “Please, don’t do this to me, I don’t deserve this!!” and those were the last words that Kevin said before he faced the same fate as poor Sarah.

Don’t think that Devin was going to be left alone. At 10:00, it was Devin’s bedtime and he went to sleep. While Devin was sleeping he had a nightmare which was the way that Sarah got to him. He dreamt that he was walking through the graveyard to put some flowers at Sarah’s grave, and as he got ready to leave, a hand came out of her grave and pulled him in. After that, Devin never woke up and you probably know the rest.

After all these years, the two mischief twins had finally gotten what they deserved. They had no idea that it would happen this way though. After that day something very strange happened. About a week later Sarah’s very distant cousin, Annabella transferred to the same school. She apparently came at just the right time to fill in for her cousin. Who knows, maybe they planned all of this to happen. After Annabella transferred to the school, many strange things began to happen; the whole class began to fall apart. What I mean is that week by week someone in the class somehow became involved in a tragic accident and was killed. Stacey was the first person to fall victim to these strange happenings.

One girl in the class decided to do research on what was happening and hoped to find out something. And she did. She found that the whole family ever since it began, had been cursed. The family was known as the cursed family. Every single family member was strange in their own way. Each one had a curse on them. Everywhere they went, something bad happened to someone else. Every family member died in some kind of tragic accident. No one ever died a natural death. They always came back after they died to seek revenge on the person who had killed them.
